The Daily Game is exactly like Solitaire, the only difference is that everyone is playing the same Solitaire game the day of and it is 100% winnable. Every day there will be a new Solitaire game to play, but you can only complete one Daily Game a day. 

We only prompt players with a pop-up message about the Daily Game 1-2 times total, after that, you should no longer be prompted and you are not required to play. 

The notification symbol in the Game tab for the Daily Game cannot be turned off unless the Daily Game button is tapped.
